He knew some of the attendees saw the look on his face. But he pulled the expression to a disinterested bland so quickly, most of them forgot they saw it in the next moment.

The morning passed that way, Riordan eyed Jennifer, and she did the same. Sometimes she would look at him, but he already watched her. Others Jennifer stared at him and when he saw her he would smile back and then continue to speak as if the expectant ocular interlude never happened. After he ran yet another PowerPoint, he sat down and tugged the small cellphone into his lap.

Before the last break Riordan sent her a message.
Have lunch with me beautiful.

Why should I?
He knew she was in the mood to be a bit mischievous and just as he thought, Jennifer's reply reflected her playful state.

Riordan smirked and let his fingers fly.

His response was pure genius.
Because you want to

Then Riordan saw her smirk and a discrete swipe of fingers hidden by her monitor.

By the smile on her face he guessed she had something snarky to say and strangely he couldn’t wait to know what it was.
Guess a woman's gotta eat, may as well with you

How cute, he thought.
Don’t be like that, it’s my treat and I’ll sweeten the deal by picking up dinner

Jennifer laughed out loud at his statement and the bored occupants in class perked up at the out of place sound. After the interest died down about her outburst, he received her reply.

Okay I’ll bite, can’t say no to a free meal in a recession

Barely beating back laughter of his own at her dry wit, Riordan recessed for lunch, again today most of the class dived out the exit doors as if they raced for NASCAR. He expected to not only have lunch with Jennifer again, but more of her sensually drugging kisses. Her lips were virtuous, too innocent by today’s standards, and even then he gleefully anticipated savoring the taste of them again.

"Where are we going?" Riordan didn't care, so long as it was semi-private at least.

"How about Nikki's? Do you like sushi?" Jennifer asked, and he knew she hoped she could avoid blowing her diet for the second day in a row.

"That’s fine with me." And it was, he would rather eat rice with her than steak without. But he had one caveat. "But if I give you that, then you have to ride with me today." He didn't want to spend extra time riding alone when they could ride together and those minutes could be spent with her.

Jennifer looked pensive and he knew that she was unsure if she wanted to let it all hang out at work yet. His eyes were drawn to her as she walked through the double doors to the bright afternoon sunlight and slipped on her large frame designer shades. She let him drive her without complaint in his rented Jeep just around the corner to the mall. Finding a spot by the door, Riordan parked and opened Jennifer's door to escort her out.

Riordan found the atmosphere cramped and had a few more occupants than he personally preferred. Although the dining wasn't as private as he wanted, the wait staff was polite, well trained and the small dining room was practically empty for the early lunch hour. This time the couple shared a carafe of hot sake and dynamite rolls, deep fried rolls still blew Jen's diet sky high despite her good intentions when she ordered a cucumber roll and seaweed salad. But he couldn’t resist offering her a bite of his lunch between two bamboo chopsticks and when it was all said and done she didn’t even touch her bland meal. Their conversation was scintillating as always and he spent the entire time learning more about the new object of his desires. After a decent meal and an even better tete-a-tete, their two purloined hours were coming to a close. They went back to work the same way they left.

When they made it back to the building, most of the classmates were back. But most were distracted, texting or face booking, some doing both at the same time while playing a game. Only one person was potentially alert enough to notice how they came in together. Jennifer had a flush to her cheeks paired with lightly bruised lips, and Riordan bore a hint of her usual shade of lipstick smudged to the left side of his jaw, unnoticed until he glanced in the blank black computer screen at his seat. The rest of the afternoon longing looks passed between the two, the brief glances felt all the more potent for being hidden and furtive.

Riordan was at her house by six that night, and as he promised earlier brought dinner. His plan for the night was a bit of relaxation and as much fun as he could pack into the short window of time they would have tonight. He picked up Indian food, Chicken Tikki Masala and Chili Chicken with extra naan bread. Lots of sticky basmati rice and samosas made an excellent picnic spread on the floor. Both of them were positioned Grecian style and lay on their sides facing. In between them rested a chess board and plates of the forgotten spicy meal.

For whatever reason, when he saw the marble board tucked away on a bookshelf, he wanted to play with her. If she didn't know how he could teach her. So he asked, without many expectations and was pleasantly surprised by her response.

"Do you play Jennifer?" She looked confused for a moment, as she was pulling plates out of the cabinets when he initially asked. When he saw her confusion, a perplexed look in her eyes, he made himself clearer.

"Chess, do you play?"

"Yes of course. Why have a board if I can't play?"

Riordan laughed at that, usually the nicest sets were owned as decoration only and finding another player was rare. Outside of the internet that is. "I’m just asking if you want to play a game."

"Alright, but bear in mind I'm rusty."

"That’s fine, I am a bit myself."

With those words, battle lines were drawn. The meal they ate was delightful, food spicy and rich. However, with board between them, the affable duo became opponents in a war. They flipped a quarter to see who would play which color. After that point it was on like Donkey Kong.

The gameplay went on for nearly two deadlocked hours, as they talked and ate pinches of this and that between moves. When they lost the desire to eat anymore, the nearly empty plates were slid to one side to make more room for their mock battle. With Riordan's next play, he took her knight, but knew the move was a straw victory. Jennifer had him in a cinch, less than three moves and he was toast. So he took the offensive, used his words to get what his skill was not able to attain him.

"So tell me Jen, are you still a virgin?" Riordan decided to get it out in the open, as he saw the hints everywhere. In how she reacted to the smallest caresses, almost as if confused by her own reactions. The way she walked with her delectable hips tight. She never would come out and say it, but he saw her. Probably in a way that no man had taken the time to bother doing. She was worth the effort, and he would show her that and make her understand just how serious he was about getting to know her better.

He watched her sputter as her mouth turned into a mulish angle. Even still, she moved her queen forward, leaving him two moves from check.

"Yes, and what about it?"

"It just boggles the mind, you are smart and sexy. Why hasn't some lucky slob snapped you up?"

"Riordan, most men don't want a fat virgin, really a fat anything."

"That doesn't matter, there are men out there who have no problem with a little extra."

"I hate to burst your bubble, but I had more than a little extra and not many men interested in it."

"So, there are some very sexy plus sized ladies. I've met my fair share of them. Believe me when I say, confidence means a lot. Few men will see a woman if she doesn't have an air of self-assurance. It’s almost a perfume that a draws the eye."

Jennifer believed him, the look in his eye telling her the truth of it.

"Okay, I will give you that, but I didn't make for an attractive big girl."

"Why not? You are lovely and not just on the outside. There is much more to somebody than what they look like. Think about it this way, would you want to be with someone who would leave you if the worst happened? If you ended up with cancer, or in a terrible accident? No one is guaranteed tomorrow, not me or you. Let alone that we will always be beautiful, as everyone gets old eventually. I'd much rather enjoy having a good woman by my side that would love me through thick and thin, and not this." He used both hands to point towards himself. "Wouldn't you?"

Jennifer had to see he was right. Any man who cared more about her looks than her was not someone she should give the time of day to, let alone her virtue. Only took a moment, but Riordan saw she understood what he meant when she nodded in agreement.

Since she was able to give him the point in their verbal match, he could be generous enough to give her the victory on the physical battlefield.

He decided to be graceful about the loss, admitted he was bested by laid his king on its side and conceded the victory to his opponent. Jennifer smiled then squealed when Riordan slid the board away from them. Several pawns slid across the carpet and landed in front of the left over china, tinkled chimes against the platters before the marble clinked to a halt.

Riordan looked at Jennifer and asked without words for her mouth. She gave it, leaning closer and closer still, until her lips were flush against his hungry mouth as he sought out all of her. His tongue dueled along hers where their mingled flesh darted and tasted. He found her delicious as always and grunted slightly. Jennifer squirmed enough to the point she fitted her hips to his naturally. His erection dug into her thigh only scant inches away from pressing against her mound.

He knew she was dangerously wet from the heat that radiated from her and she multiplied his desire with each pass of his tongue over hers. Even with the need that sizzled between them, the kiss grew languid with steamy hot puffs of breath to mark time and a slow burn of desire to keep their lust at a simmer. The only thing he was able to do was fist his hands in her hair and all she was good for was to echo his need back into his waiting mouth. The lusty groans she made were eaten with delight when Riordan reined in his desire and ended their lavish licks over the seam of lips. Moments later, he pulled back and kissed her chastely against her expectant pout.

Long minutes later, he still gazed into her eyes, the molten chocolate pools attempted to pull him back for another kiss. She still panted between each hitched breath and mewled sounds of need when the front door opened and banged shut.

Jennifer: GNL

"Hey girl, I'm here!" Oh my god, Jen thought.

It was her best friend. Jennifer heard Tresha’s keys hit the table in the hall with a jumble of clacks and clinks just as she bounced upright. Riordan was left in the dust, one moment he held a soft woman and in the next thin air.

"Sorry I'm..."

The words droned off as the newcomer apparently strode into sight of the intimate scene she disturbed.

Jennifer had completely forgotten tonight was supposed to be a girls night lite. Privately termed GNL, it was an evening spent drinking top-shelf liquor and watching a movie, always midweek. Hence the lite. Usually it was once a month and just a gab session with her, Tresha, and some random movie. The details varied. Sometimes they watched a D-list horror flick or other nights, a sappy two-tissue box romance. Depending on the season, drink options changed, as they would serve eggnog in December or Tequila with lime for Cinco de Mayo. The only constant was it was just the two of them as it had been for the last ten years.

Tresha was a plain Jane, but made up for it with her smile, which transformed an ordinary face into a woman worthy of another look. Bright and wide, Tresha's smile now eclipsed the sun as she digested the view before her. She was GNL approved, wearing a pair of grey cotton leggings, and an off shoulder purple tee shirt. The look on her face was priceless, a look of stunned stupor that quickly turned into a mischievous grin. So it was no surprise that Tresha was shocked, her best friend deserved the moment. But her home-girl was a trooper and walked over to the man who just peeled himself off the floor nonchalantly.

"Hi, since my best friend Jen has lost her mind, I mean manners, my name is Tresha Barnes."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Riordan Jamison." He stuck his hand out, offering it in greeting, and the beaming woman accepted.

"Sorry Tresha, I forgot it was GNL."

"That’s okay, I had something else I needed to do anyway." Apparently, Tresha wanted her friend to pick up from where she had interrupted them. And she was even willing to leave their girl’s night to ensure it.
