His kissed her then. Soundly. Sensuously. Seductively.

“Do you know how happy I am?” he asked. “To know that your first time…your first fulfillment will be with me?”

“But how can you be sure…?”

He shook his head. “There’s that
b
word again.”

His lips on her face, on her neck, sent heated tendrils curling down low in her gut. His hands roved over her waist, her hips, her back.

“Diana, your ex-husband was an fool. A selfish
jerk who didn’t concern himself with your happiness. He didn’t take the time to satisfy you. I know it. I feel it. Down deep in my soul.”

He placed another kiss high on her breast and she was barely able to stifle a moan. The heated creepers inside her writhed and twirled. Never before had she experienced such feelings.

“Now—” he paused long enough to rain soft kisses along the curve of her neck “—a soul mate’s primary focus is the satisfaction of his lover.”

“Primary…” The word came out sounding breathy. “Focus…”

“Mmm-hmm.”

He kissed her, touched her, everywhere…until Diana thought she’d lose her mind. She wanted to trust him. Wanted him to be the love of her life. Her white knight. Her soul mate. She wanted desperately for him to satisfy her in every way possible.

And he did.

Right then.

Right there.

Later, they stroked and caressed each other, the luminescence of the fire’s embers turning their bodies coppery. “We should go in,” he whispered against her ear. “The boys might wake.”

She nodded, but held him back when he made to rise. “I need to tell you something.”

“What is it?”

Chagrin heated her cheeks. “I have to be honest. About your name.”

“My Kolheek name?”

She nodded. “What you’ve done for the boys is wonderful,” she told him. “But I chose your
name—” reaching up, she lay her palm against his jaw lovingly “—because you’re the great warrior who conquered my unconquerable heart.”

She had trusted him. And in him she’d found an honorable man. A lover. A friend. A man with whom she could find true happiness. In him she had found her Great Warrior.
