Thank you so much for reading my first contemporary novel from the Summerhill series. I know brothers aren’t allowed to serve together in the army, but this is fiction, so please forgive me.

I grew up not far from the Finger Lakes and have always loved the area. I actually have been swimming in Conesus, Honeoye, Canandaigua, and Keuka Lake. Since I couldn’t decide which one I like best, I decided to create my own Finger Lake.

Since many of the Finger Lakes have the names of Iroquois tribes, I searched for an appropriate name, and finally chose Orenda Lake, which means:

“extraordinary invisible power believed by the Iroquois Indians to pervade in varying degrees all animate and inanimate natural objects as a transmissible spiritual energy capable of being exerted according to the will of its possessor”

I think of Orenda Lake as having transmissible spiritual energy for guardian angels. Did Caitlyn have the will to transmit her guardian angel?

So do you believe in guardian angels? I do, so I thought I would introduce them in my novels, and what better way to do that than using the characters in my Clan Grant Series? What if it were true? What if, when you die, your job becomes that of being a guardian angel for one of your descendants? I hope this leaves you thinking, as I always hope to do through my writing.

If you enjoyed Loki Grant, also known as Lucky Loki, his first appearance was in LOVE LETTERS FROM LARGS, and he has popped up in many other places as well. I love him and so do many readers. Each of my novels can stand alone, so you don’t need to read the entire Highlander series if you wish to just read about Loki. I also promise no cliffhangers at the end of any of my novels!

I hope this was a good read for you, and if so, I have at least eleven more novels coming in the Summerhill series, because there are eleven more siblings in the Ramsay-Grant clan. You haven’t become familiar with them all yet, but you will. Down the road, I also plan to tell Ryan and Lorraine’s story, and maybe even Gramps’s story someday. He’s a character, isn’t he? And wait until you meet Gram! For those of you who love my Highlander Clan Grant Series, don’t worry, I’ll keep writing them as long as you keep asking for them. For those of you who read both series, your challenge will be to match the souls of two characters. This one I made easy, as Caitlyn and Celestina have similar souls (and both are missy angels). I’ll include clues in each novel to help you find the one soul match in each story. Soul mate and soul match are
not
the same thing.
